Kudat Port, strategically located with close proximity to the Philippines, serves as a significant maritime gateway for trade within the archipelago. The port primarily handles general cargo and timber-related products, making it a vital hub for these industries.  

The port facilities include various berths:

Inner Berth 112 meters in length, 6.2 meters in depth, capable of accommodating vessels up to 4,000 DWT
Outer Berth 92 meters in length, 6.4 meters in depth, also supporting vessels up to 4,000 DWT
Passenger Ferry Terminal 24 meters in length, with a depth ranging from 3 to 4 meters, suitable for vessels up to 1,000 DWT
Ferry Ramp (Ro-Ro) 69 meters in length, with a depth ranging from 3 to 4 meters

The port includes storage facilities with an open storage area of 3,028 square meters and a CIQS Terminal located at Godown, spanning 615 square meters. It mainly handles break bulk cargo. Mechanical equipment at Kudat Port includes forklifts, with one unit having a capacity of 4 tonnes and another unit with a 3-tonne capacity, facilitating cargo handling operations.
